Audition prep

for drill team or a high-school dance company (Payson High, Salem Hills, Juab High), the week is Advanced Ballet (90 minutes), Advanced Acro, Advanced Hip Hop, and Senior Oaks, with private lessons for a solo.

The Company contract in plain words

Company is a full-season commitment, with at least two weekly technique classes in addition to choreography and 90% attendance. Release from the Company contract is permitted only in two circumstances: a serious injury requiring rehabilitation, or relocation of the family out of the area. Early withdrawal is non-refundable except under these permitted contract-termination circumstances.

After high school

BYU and UVU, both within an hour, have dance programs; Oakley's own path ran through Southern Utah University's dance education program.
