Saplings, ages 6–9

Ages 6 to 9 are when habits form, and we form good ones: Beginning Ballet, Beginning Jazz, Beginning Acro, and Intermediate 1 Hip Hop, one hour a week at $52 a month, or two classes for $96. Most Saplings take ballet plus one other style.

Choosing a first style

Beginning 1 Ballet (Thu 4:30 p.m., Grey Cliffs) or Beginning 1 Acro/Dance (Thu 4:30 p.m., Pole Canyon) are the usual first classes; Beginning Jazz (Mon 5:30 p.m., Grey Cliffs) and Intermediate 1 Hip Hop (Mon 4:30 p.m., Grey Cliffs) are the usual second.

What the ladder means

Beginning 1, 2, and 3 are placed by the instructor; a dancer moves up when the skills are solid, not by birthday or by school year.

Make-ups

a missed class can be made up in another scheduled class of a similar genre and level before the semester ends; make-up records reset each semester.
